• L-cystine — a disulfide-bonded form of the amino acid cysteine, the primary sulfur-containing amino acid in keratin. Hair is roughly 14% cystine by amino acid composition; the body uses dietary L-cystine as a building block for keratin synthesis.
• Vitamin B5 (Calcium Pantothenate) — pantothenic acid, which contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the normal synthesis of steroid hormones, vitamin D, and some neurotransmitters. The EU-approved health claim for B5 includes “contributes to normal mental performance”; its inclusion in hair supplements is based on pantothenate’s role in coenzyme A-dependent reactions in hair follicle metabolism.
• Wheat germ oil — a natural source of vitamin E (tocopherols) and essential fatty acids, included as a lipophilic base that also contributes antioxidant support. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress per approved EU health claims.
